Kim Davis is serving as the 2011 Foothills Swim and Racquet Club Director of Tennis. She is a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Pro 1 which is the highest testable level of certification and was previously awarded the USPTA Intermountain Professional of the Year. She currently holds the elected position of USPTA Intermountain Division President and has served on three national committees including time as chairman of the USPTA Women’s Committee. Kim also currently works as the Director of Tennis at the Woodmen Valley - Colorado Springs Park and Recreation Department site. Prior to working a Foothills, Kim served as the United States Air Force Academy head women’s tennis coach where she was awarded the CAC Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year and coached nationally ranked collegiate players. Davis has a Bachelor of Science degree from the USAF Academy and a Master of Arts in physical education from the University of Northern Colorado. She served in the Air Force as a KC-135 Aircraft Commander and T-3 Instructor Pilot and is a Desert Storm and Operation Deny Flight (Bosnia) veteran. She’s also the author of the Tennis Activity Book which was the 2006 USPTA World Conference best seller and one of the best selling books of all times for the USPTA Pro Shop. She also has two DVDs - Drills, Drills, Drills and Drills for Everyone. Drills, Drills, Drills is USPTA Pro Shop top selling DVD. Kim is also on the USPTA national speakers board and has presented at several World and Division Conferences. She was a high school tennis MVP, collegiate conference champion, Armed Forces doubles and singles champion, and #1 Colorado player in several divisions. Kim continues to be an active 5.0 player in both singles and doubles and enjoys playing on the Colorado Springs 5.0 women's team with Foothills assistant professional, Lori Kiser.
Lori Kiser is currently serving as the 2011 Foothills Swim and Racquet Club Junior Team Coach. She is a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Pro 1 which is the highest testable level of certification. Lori has used her tennis teaching skills to further the games of players of all ages and abilities for over fifteen years including her time as a professional at Cheyenne Mountain Country Club and Foothills Swim and Racquet Club where she was awarded the USPTA Intermountain Assistant Professional of the Year award. Lori has been a tennis enthusiast for most of her life playing for Wheat Ridge High School in Denver, CO and then collegiate tennis for the University of Northern Colorado. Before becoming a certified professional, Lori worked at the Nike Tennis Camp under Dave Adams (Cheyenne Mountain High School State Champion Coach) and at the United States Air Force Academy Tennis Camp. In addition, Lori has four seasons of coaching experience at the high school level which includes time at Pine Creek High School coaching nationally ranked and four-time state champion, Nicole Leimbach. Lori continues to be an avid player and has captained many teams in mixed and women’s USTA adults leagues at the 5.0 and 4.5 levels. Lori is currently the head professional at Nor'Wood Recreation Center and captain of the Colorado Springs 5.0 women's team which is one of only four 5.0 women's teams in the state of Colorado. We are very fortunate to have Lori back for another season of coaching Junior Team Tennis at Foothills.
Matt Kiser is a 4.5 player currently in charge of running the Saturday Men's Drills at Foothills Swim & Racquet Club. Matt played #1 Singles at Liberty High School in 1989 and has played USTA matches at the 4.5 level the past few seasons. Matt won the Men's 4.5 Doubles Championship at the Colorado Springs Open in 2011 at LIfe Time Fitness. Matt has 10 years experience teaching private and group lessons to all player levels and ages. He grew up in South Africa and has played tennis his whole life. He graduated from the University of Nebraska and currently teaches all grade levels at Woodmen-Roberts Elementary School as part of the technology department. Matt maintains the website for the USPTA Intermountain Division and has a Masters Degree in Information and Learning Technologies. He is looking forward to instructing and coaching the Foothills players this year at the Saturday morning Men's Drills.
