Foothills Tennis - 2024

Foothills Members,

I thought I would post a kick-off notice letting you know what’s coming up for this next tennis AND pickleball season.  I’m looking forward to being back and offering some new opportunities hopefully getting more of you out for tennis AND pickleball.  Yes, I said pickleball!  I am a USPTA Certified Pickleball Professional along with my Tennis Professional credentials and would like to offer more pickleball at the club in both competition and lesson formats.  So, stay tuned for those offerings.

As you may already know, the courts are getting a much needed makeover and the completion date isn’t quite set, but the courts are most likely not going to be finished before the start of the USTA season.  Don’t worry, we are still planning on having USTA teams for you to join. We will just be playing our home matches elsewhere until our home courts are finished.  We will keep you updated on progress and projected completion dates as the courts get closer to being finished.

That being said, it is time for USTA leagues and teams to start forming and signing up. Registrations opened up on February 1, 2024 for the first round of leagues.  I have updated the Foothills Swim and Racquet Club Website with information on teams, dates, deadlines and signing up.  You will also find the days and times that each league team plays to help you with scheduling and joining the appropriate team.  We would love to have you on a team.  This Summer season, we would like to get more mixed doubles teams together to play league matches.  It has been requested by many members, so let’s get some teams together.

Members have been asking about additional leagues to join.  If you would like to join some additional leagues, please let me know by clicking on the link below.  Additional leagues include mixed doubles, trio and in-house ladders and leagues.

Other focuses for the Summer season will be to have more social tennis and pickleball events for the Foothills membership in addition to the 3 club tournaments we offer.  Also, maybe a club ladder for singles and/or doubles and an in-house league separate from USTA is also possible. More competitive offerings for pickleball will also be offered including a tournament or two if you are interested in becoming more competitive.  Use the link above to express your interest in possible future events.

With sparkling new courts that should last a very long time, I hope to keep offering and growing tennis and pickleball at Foothills for years to come.

Thanks for having such a strong membership and look for offerings soon and throughout the Summer.  The best place to get information is here on the Foothills Website and to E-Mail me at, or text me at 719.235.7003.
